[glow=red,2,300]The Legends Of[/glow]
Dragtonia
Prelude
My legend begins in the mountains. Shartta, one of the chosen ones, who dwells in the mountains in the city of Du’Eldevardia, was going for a hike through the mountains, taking in the scenery. He did this for one main reason, he had found out that taking in the wildlife calmed him, and it helped replenish his energy. He came up to a waterfall and saw a perfect rock for sitting; it was about to the time of day when the sun met the waterfall at the correct angle to produce a full double rainbow. It was a beautiful sight that he came to visit each morning and night. As he was meditating, he felt the presence of one extremely young, but he didn’t feel it was human. It felt like another creature, a reptile of some kind, but too young to even be a hatchling. He decided to try to sense for its location, for maybe if he took it, the reptile would hatch, and it would be his own. He found that the egg was directly behind the waterfall, so he got up and looked behind, and it was exactly where he thought it would be. It was yellow, kind of a gem shade of yellow. It was like a ruby, but yellow, a strange color. He realized that it was a dragon egg, because only a dragon egg could have that kind of color. Shartta picked the egg up, and immediately it started to hatch. So it was true, legend had held out. There was destined to be a chosen one from Du’Eldevardia. He must be that one…
Way on the other side of Dragtonia lived another chosen one, who lived in the humble trading village of Ca’Astaporta. The reason it was a trading village was because of its location, which happened to be next to the Sea of the Undead. Now, a villager named Gastanri was taking a walk along the sea and he too, was an elf, just like Shartta, and he too knew a beautiful place, great for meditation. There was a small bay full of sea life, and next to it there was a rock, but not just any rock, this was solid quartz. This quartz would act like a prism at a certain time of day and create a rainbow. Now, because of all the wildlife, a human would have found this site great for fishing, but he never shared his secret because he didn’t want all of this beautiful scenery to get destroyed by humans. Humans liked to fish for sport, and kill the fish; to the elves, that was like murder, but the humans were fine with it. The elves couldn’t believe any creature could do such a thing to another living creature. Thus they never ate meat. As he was gathering energy from all the surrounding objects, he sensed an odd presence, the same as Shartta sensed, except this time the egg was emerald. He took it home with him, with the same hopes that Shartta had.
Just North of Ca’Astaporta, in Ra’Capitra, the capital of Dragtonia, there lived the third and final chosen one, his name was Aldant. As the other two had been elves, so was he. All the chosen ones had meditation places. His was just a few miles out of the city. There was a mountain that just stuck up out of the ground, and running down it was a waterfall, the largest in Dragtonia. Once again, at the certain time of day, it also created a rainbow. It was a site only he knew about because he was the only one out that late. As he was meditating, he felt the presence of a pre-hatchling, a reptile of some sort. He found an egg, and this time the egg was sapphire. He took the egg home with the same hopes as the other two and went to sleep.
Chapter 1
One day Gastanri was headed toward the Ra’Capitra to trade some items only found by the sea (items such as undead salmon, undead shells and other things). It just so happened that Aldant was looking for more shells for his rapidly growing collection, and had decided to go to the marketplace in search of any odd looking shells. They met when Aldant spotted the undead shells and came over with great interest. He talked about how some of them resembled the shape of this egg that he had found. Gastrani immediately recalled his own egg and shared his story. Thus they became great friends. They started writing letters to each other and meeting every once in awhile in their towns. How Shartta got involved is a completely different story…
On one of Aldant’s trips into the mountains, he wasn’t watching where he was going, and looked up just before he ran into another daydreamer. Aldant learned that the other daydreamer’s name was Shartta. Now Shartta, on the other hand, had had an extremely rough life behind him, and wondered why “he” was chosen above everyone else. Since the day he found the egg he’d been thinking about this. When he bumped into Aldant, he was afraid he’d get yelled at for bumping into someone of a higher class. But Aldant was unlike many of the other people in Shartta’s village. Aldant sensed that he had been pondering on why he had been chosen, so he asked Shartta “Why are you thinking ‘Why me?’. It could have easily been anyone, but you are just as worthy, if not more worthy than everyone else. And what are you wondering about being chosen for…” And the story sprung from there. Now after awhile all three of them became great friends. Especially Gastrani and Shartta, they became the best of friends and no distance would keep them from seeing each other at least twice a week. During most weeks, many more visits occurred.
As you may already know, most dragons have a few issues with other dragons. These three dragons were no different. They had a lot of trouble getting a long at first, but after a month or two, they had everything worked out. Gastanri’s dragon was the most aggressive, so he was somewhat like the leader of the pack. Shartta’s was in the middle, and Aldant’s dragon, who was the least aggressive, was at the bottom. After this was worked out, everyone had a much better time, even the elves. There was one thing that they didn’t even know. After you and your dragon get along really well, you are appointed an element to control. You have no control of which element you get, but your element is chosen through the way that you acted in your life up to this point. Gastanri was more outgoing, while Shartta was more intimate and secretive, and Aldant, on the other hand, was more of the type that hated the fact that he had royal blood, and wanted to be more like everyone else. Shartta’s dragon was the opposite of his personality, outgoing and bold. And Gastanri’s dragon had the exact same personality as himself. Of course Aldant’s was just a very calm and unconceited dragon, the most content of the three of them. When the other two dragons got into quarrels, it was usually Aldrant’s dragon that ended up helping them mend their differences.
There is still plenty more coming, so bear with me.
